August 9, 2022. A historic victory. The national team of Uzbekistan has made a historic victory becoming the only undefeated winner of the 44th World Chess Olympiad, hosted by Chennai, India.
The Uzbekistan men's national team played against the Netherlands in the decisive round.
Jahangir Vahidov was victorious in his game. Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Nodirbek Yaqubboyev and Javokhir Sindorov scored a draw.
Uzbekistan won with a score of 2.5:1.5.
With this glorious victory, the men's national team of Uzbekistan deservedly has grabbed the gold medal and become Olympic champions for the first time in its history.
Uzbekistan men's national team was the only team that did not lose a single round at the Olympics.
