Uzbekistan is opening a new chapter in its economic partnership with the United States. During his working visit to Washington, D.C., President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with top executives from leading American companies, investment funds, and financial institutions to discuss ambitious projects spanning energy, infrastructure, digital technologies, and trade.
The meeting was attended by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, Special Assistant to the U.S. President Ricky Gill, Special Envoy to the President Paolo Zampolli, Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Stephen Vaden, as well as leaders of the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and senior executives from major corporations including Traxys, FLSmidth, McKinsey, META, Google, Amazon, Boeing, Air Products, Axiom Space, Cove Capital, Freeport-McMoRan, Orion CMC, Cargill Cotton, John Deere, Honeywell, Valmont Industries, and Flowserve Corporation.

President Mirziyoyev highlighted that over the past eight years, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the United States has grown fourfold, and more than 300 American companies now operate successfully in the country. He stressed that this level of cooperation represents only the beginning of a new stage, offering wide-ranging prospects for joint projects. The President also noted that during his upcoming meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, the two leaders would discuss specific areas of economic collaboration and new initiatives.
Outlining the priority areas of strategic partnership, President Mirziyoyev said Uzbekistan aims to establish a next-generation energy system by 2030 with 18–20 gigawatts of renewable capacity, with more than half of electricity generated from solar and wind sources. He added that Uzbekistan and the United States will collaborate on the extraction and deep processing of uranium, copper, tungsten, molybdenum, and graphite, while building reliable supply chains and implementing advanced American technologies.
Infrastructure development is another key focus. Uzbekistan plans to invest more than $12bn by 2030 to modernize roads, railways, terminals, and airports. In addition, digital cooperation with American companies such as Google, Meta, and NVIDIA will expand, including the introduction of Apple Pay and Google Pay, creation of a Digital Academy, and establishment of startup hubs. Financial support for these initiatives will be provided by DFC Corporation and the U.S. Exim Bank.
President Mirziyoyev emphasized his personal commitment to supporting American investment initiatives, affirming that Uzbekistan remains a reliable partner and a guarantor of success for foreign investors.
