President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with John Jovanovic, head of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Eximbank), during his working visit to Washington, D.C. on November 6, the presidential press service reported.
Eximbank, the official export credit agency of the United States government, supports US companies in their foreign economic activities by providing insurance, guarantees, and credit facilities.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in financing major projects in priority sectors, including energy, key minerals, transport, agriculture, IT, and other strategic areas.
Special attention was given to Eximbank’s role in modernizing Uzbekistan’s aircraft fleet and supplying Boeing aircraft. Both parties agreed to continue practical cooperation and develop a long-term partnership plan.
The meeting concluded with the signing of an agreement on financing joint projects between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade and the US Eximbank, witnessed by President Mirziyoyev.
