Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan to boost cooperation among women entrepreneurs
During the Asian Women's Forum held in Samarkand on May 13, Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, met with Sahiba Gafarova, Chairman of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, emphasizing the importance of open and reliable relations between their countries' leaders as a solid foundation for cooperation.
The meeting, as reported by the Dunyo news agency, highlighted the mutual cooperation of parliaments in implementing high-level bilateral agreements across various sectors, including trade, economics, transport, communications, culture, and humanitarian affairs.
Both parties expressed keen interest in further strengthening relations and mutual support within international organizations and inter-parliamentary structures. Gafarova, recognizing the significance of the Asian Women's Forum initiated by Uzbekistan, underscored its potential as a platform to enhance the economic, social, and political rights and opportunities of women, wishing success to the forum.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to intensify cooperation between women entrepreneurs from both countries and enhance dialogue among young parliamentarians.
Samarkand, Uzbekistan, hosts the Asian Women’s Forum from May 13-14, dedicated to advancing women's rights and empowerment in the region. With the theme "Regional Approach to Economic, Social, and Political Rights of Women and Empowerment," the forum highlights the significance of collaborative action in tackling these vital issues. The idea for this event originated from the president of Uzbekistan during the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
