In 2023, public catering enterprises in Uzbekistan contributed UZS 999.4 bn ($79.5 mn) in taxes, marking an annual increase of 18%, as reported by the Tax Committee.
The Committee highlighted that the top twenty taxpayers in this industry made a substantial contribution of UZS 170.7 bn ($13.5 mn) to the national treasury.
International Foodchain, the representative of the KFC brand in the country, was the leading contributor, providing UZS 59.8 bn ($4.8 mn) in tax revenues last year. Following closely, Mak Food Servis, the owner of the Evos fast-food restaurant chain, paid UZS 43.8 bn ($3.5 mn) to the national budget. Euro Asia Lider Service secured the third position with a contribution of UZS 15.1 bn ($1.2 mn).
Overall tax revenues
In 2023, the state budget of Uzbekistan received a total of UZS 165.9 trillion ($13.2 bn) in taxes, indicating an increase of UZS 17.4 trillion ($1.4 bn) compared to the previous year.
The Committee also noted a 13% increase in tax revenues across the regions compared to 2022. The highest growth rates were observed in Jizzakh (30%), Syrdarya (21%), Tashkent (19%), and Navoiy (18%) regions.
