The meeting, which took place during Zhaparov's working visit to China, yielded pivotal agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral ties, the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
Zhaparov expressed contentment at the opportunity to synchronize the agendas of Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation, emphasizing the longstanding support the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China extend to each other across various fronts. In addition, Zhaparov highlighted Kyrgyzstan's efforts to augment the capacity of the Irkeshtam and Torugart checkpoints, with plans underway to transition these checkpoints to operate round-the-clock in collaboration with China.
Of paramount importance was the discussion regarding the construction of the Bedel checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Chinese border and the establishment of the "Barskoon-Uchturfan-Aksu" highway. Zhaparov underscored the goal set by the leaders of both countries to inaugurate the Bedel checkpoint and initiate operations on the highway within the current year, envisioning these developments as significant milestones fostering deeper bilateral ties and facilitating increased cargo flow from China to Central Asian nations and beyond.
In response, Ma Xingrui expressed gratitude for Zhaparov's visit to Kashgar and affirmed the significance of the agreements forged between the two nations. Recognizing Xinjiang's pivotal role in the implementation of the One Belt, One Road initiative due to its proximity to Kyrgyzstan, Ma reiterated the importance of Zhaparov's visit in strengthening regional connectivity.
Furthermore, the discussions delved into various sectors including energy, subsoil use, agricultural exports, e-commerce, and bond zones, indicating a broad spectrum of collaborative opportunities on the horizon.
Concluding the meeting on a proactive note, Zhaparov proposed the establishment of air services on the Osh-Kashgar-Osh route, extending an invitation to Ma Xingrui and Erkin Tuniyaz, the head of the People's Government of the XUAR, to undertake a working visit to Kyrgyzstan.
