    Astana Hub elevates Kazakhstan to Central Asian startup apex in latest StartupBlink rankings

    In the latest rankings released by research center StartupBlink, Kazakhstan has solidified its position as the leader of the Central Asian startup landscape, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan reported. The 2023 global index reveals remarkable growth, with Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, catapulting 25 positions worldwide to secure the top spot regionally.

    The remarkable surge in rankings is credited to the exceptional strides made by Astana Hub, Central Asia's largest technology park, in fostering innovation and supporting the growth of startups. In recognition of its outstanding success, Astana Hub was honored with the prestigious Startup Ecosystem Award.

    Mahmod Shamsi, Head of Business Development at StartupBlink, emphasized the significance of Astana's achievement in the global startup landscape. 

    "Astana's award for the best startup ecosystem in Central Asia marks an important stage in the development of the region. Astana Hub has played a key role in this success by creating an enabling environment for innovation and startup growth. This achievement highlights Kazakhstan's growing influence and leadership in the Central Asian startup scene," Shamsi noted.

    The Startup Ecosystem Awards, presented by StartupBlink, utilize a comprehensive algorithm that considers over 40 parameters, including population size, regional influence, and other factors. This meticulous evaluation process ensures an objective and thorough acknowledgment, promoting the development of startup ecosystems on a global scale.

    Bagdat Mussin, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, expressed his enthusiasm for the recognition. 

    "Being recognized in StartupBlink's rankings highlights that our efforts to support and grow startups are delivering real results. This recognition not only signifies a high appreciation of our achievements but also presents an opportunity to attract the attention of global investors," shared Mussin, inviting the global investment community to join Kazakhstan's journey to leadership in startup innovation.

    StartupBlink, renowned for its comprehensive startup ecosystem map and research center, provides valuable insights into startup communities globally. The organization's annual reports and ranking tables are widely used by entrepreneurs, investors, and researchers to inform decisions on relocation, investment, and research.

    The Startup Ecosystem Awards presented by StartupBlink acknowledge the accomplishments of startup ecosystems through the utilization of StartupBlink's algorithm. This recognition encompasses various stakeholders, including government agencies, chambers of commerce, startup support organizations, and international entities, all playing vital roles in fostering the growth of thriving startup ecosystems.

    Astana Hub, with its focus on creating and developing an ecosystem for IT business, has become a hub for innovation. Currently hosting 1,400 IT companies, including nearly 400 with foreign participation, Astana Hub provides extensive support, including business development and scaling programs, special tax and visa conditions, information and educational support, and material infrastructure.

    In addition to Kazakhstan's success, Uzbekistan has also secured a significant position in the prestigious Best Startup Ecosystem in the Foodtech award segment for Central Asia. IT Park Uzbekistan emerged as the frontrunner, solidifying Uzbekistan's leading position in the Foodtech industry within the region. This recognition celebrates Uzbekistan's achievements and underscores the crucial role played by IT Park Uzbekistan in nurturing and promoting advancements within the Foodtech ecosystem.
