As per the GlobalPetrolPrices platform, Uzbekistan ranks 57th globally in terms of gasoline affordability. This ranking places Uzbekistan as the country with the most affordable gasoline prices in Central Asia.
AI-95 gasoline prices
As of January 1, the price of AI-95 gasoline in Uzbekistan stands at UZS 13,800 ($1.12) per litre. This is lower than the global average price, which is approximately UZS 16,000 ($1.3). However, when compared to other countries in the Central Asian region, the cost of fuel in Uzbekistan is relatively higher.
For instance, in Turkmenistan, a litre of AI-95 gasoline costs UZS 5,200 ($0.42). In Kazakhstan, the price is slightly higher at UZS 6,600 ($0.54). Kyrgyzstan has it priced at UZS 9,900 ($0,8). Even in Afghanistan, the fuel prices are not significantly cheaper than in Uzbekistan, with a litre of gasoline costing UZS 13,100 ($1.06).
AI-80 gasoline prices
In a recent development, Uzbekistan abolished the zero excise tax on AI-80 gasoline. This decision led to an increase in the prices of this type of fuel. The cost of one litre of AI-80 gasoline at UNG Petro gas stations, a subsidiary of Uzbekneftegaz, now stands at UZS 6,800 ($0.55). This is a significant increase from the previous price of UZS 6,050 ($0.49).
