Istanbul recently hosted an award ceremony to recognize Mehmet Cengiz, the founder of Turkey's Cengiz Holding, who was bestowed with the prestigious Order of "Dostlik" ("Friendship") through a presidential decree from Uzbekistan, Dunyo reports. The event, attended by members of the holding's management board and company employees, marked a significant moment of celebration and acknowledgment.
The Consul General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, Sherzod Abdunazarov, played a key role in the ceremony by reading out the official decree from Uzbekistan's head of state, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, outlining the conferment of the Order of "Friendship" upon Mehmet Cengiz.
During the award presentation, Mehmet Cengiz took the opportunity to express his gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the esteemed recognition of his contributions and for honoring him with the "Dostlik" Order.
Addressing the attendees, Mehmet Cengiz shared his sentiments, stating, "Dear event participants, ladies and gentlemen. Over the course of my life, I have been honored with numerous medals and orders. However, this 'Dostlik' Order, presented by the President of Uzbekistan, holds a special significance for me. Uzbekistan is our motherland. We have invested in your country and fostered friendly relations. Today, I receive this order with pride. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude to the leader of Uzbekistan for his profound attention. Our journey began due to the opportunities provided to us in Uzbekistan, and through this, we are making a modest contribution to the development of cooperation between the two countries."
