At the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev engaged in talks with Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, the Minister of Investment of the United Arab Emirates and Managing Director of ADQ Holding. The discussions, held on the sidelines of the conference, highlighted the positive strides in the investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UAE, Akorda reported.
Both leaders expressed their contentment with the robust development of investment ties and placed a significant emphasis on the implementation of collaborative investment projects. President Tokayev commended the progress made through the agreements signed between Kazakhstan, ADQ, and its subsidiaries during the conference, signaling a commitment to supporting the ongoing expansion of bilateral relations.
The leaders discussed the signing of a Memorandum focused on the development of low-carbon energy in the Republic of Kazakhstan, boasting a total capacity of 10 GW. Additionally, an Intergovernmental Agreement with Masdar on a wind power plant project with a capacity of 1 GW was recognized for its importance in advancing sustainable energy initiatives in the region.
President Tokayev underscored the vital role of the partnership with AD Ports Group in transforming the ports of Aktau and Kuryk into key maritime hubs on the Caspian Sea, solidifying their significance in regional trade and connectivity.
The meeting also delved into the potential collaborations between Presight and Samruk-Kazyna, exploring joint projects that align with the strategic agreements involving QazaqGaz and Kazakhstan Temir Zholy in the realm of artificial intelligence.
Affirming Kazakhstan's commitment to fostering a favorable investment climate, President Tokayev assured the state's unwavering support for investors operating within its borders.
