A meeting of the Turkmen-Turkish intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation and a joint business forum will be held in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) from 6 to 8 December, local TV channel Altyn Asyr reports.
During this period, an exhibition of Turkish export goods will be held with the participation of 100 companies specialising in the production of industrial equipment, construction and agricultural machinery, water treatment equipment and water supply systems, heating, ventilation and cooling, electrical protection.
Companies from the banking, health and education sectors will also be showcasing their services.
Turkey is one of Turkmenistan's largest trading partners. Last year, total trade turnover reached $2.06bn, an increase of 21.8% over the previous year.
The Turkish Ministry of Trade reports that the volume of construction projects carried out in the Central Asian country between 1972 and July 2023 exceeded $50.8bn. Some 600 Turkish companies are registered in the local market, operating in the fields of trade, construction, energy, transport, communications and textiles.
