The presidential decree regarding the "Thousand Books for Young People" project has been approved. The Youth Affairs Agency will undertake the translation of 1000 globally acclaimed books into Uzbek as part of this initiative.
The implementation of the "Thousand Books for Youth" project involves several stages:
- Annually, the Council of Experts will compile a preliminary list of books during the first stage.
- The preliminary list will be made available on the Youth Affairs Agency's information systems for public selection through voting during the second stage, ultimately forming the final list.
To ensure diversity, a minimum of 20% of the annual book list will consist of scientific and popular works.
In the upcoming years, specifically in 2023-2024, efforts will be directed towards translating, preparing for publication, and printing the first set of 50 selected books.
State procurements associated with translation, publication preparation, and book printing will be carried out through a competitive process, selecting the most favorable offers through a tender.
Additionally, a dedicated mobile application will be developed, serving as a repository for literature in the Uzbek language. This application will be freely accessible to the public.
