Kazakhstan is making efforts to facilitate the evacuation of its citizens stranded in the Gaza Strip via Egypt, Orda.kz reports.
Kairat Umarov, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, conveyed this information during a Senate meeting.
Umarov emphasized that evacuating Kazakh citizens from the Gaza Strip is a challenging task due to the ongoing shelling in the region. He pointed out that the only passage through the Gaza Strip, Rafah, is currently closed.
"As a result, our diplomatic missions maintain continuous communication with our citizens in Gaza. We are collaborating with the Egyptian government and working in conjunction with regional authorities to ensure the safe removal of our citizens from this area," stated Kairat Umarov.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs further informed that 45 countries are actively addressing the issue of extracting civilians from the Gaza Strip, but have not yet achieved success. As a result, their current role is primarily focused on delivering humanitarian assistance.
