The 16th installment of humanitarian aid consisting of anti-hepatitis C medication, provided by the Egyptian government to Uzbekistan, has been successfully delivered to Uzbekistan, Dunyo reports.
This initiative is part of the agreements established during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Egypt and aligns with the state's commitment to cover 100% of the expenses for treating hepatitis C patients.
The decision to send the latest shipment of "Sofosbuvir-400 mg" medication to Uzbekistan resulted from effective negotiations that took place between Uzbekistan's diplomats and Egypt's Deputy Minister of Health, Muhammad Hassani, on October 3, 2023. During these discussions, Muhammad Hassani expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing collaboration between the Ministry of Health in Egypt and the treatment of hepatitis C patients in Uzbekistan.
He confirmed the delivery of "Sofosbuvir-400mg" anti-hepatitis C drugs as part of the 16th series of humanitarian aid, amounting to a total of 3,680 units valued at $38,456. These medications were transported from Sharm el-Sheikh to Tashkent with the support of Uzbekistan Airways, with the delivery process commencing on April 29 and the 15th batch being delivered on September 23.
