On October 14, the Uzbekistan government approved a resolution regarding the provision of state social assistance and services.
According to this document, individuals living alone and in need of external care, as well as single elderly persons and people with disabilities, will undergo in-depth medical examinations at least once a year according to the schedule determined by the "Inson" social service centers.
Social workers have been empowered to process applications for pension assignments and financial assistance to children from underprivileged families. Before January 1, 2024, a "hotline" will be launched for the expedited handling of requests from socially vulnerable segments of the population.
Starting from January 1, 2024, cases requiring care for individuals with disabilities of the first category, children with disabilities under the age of 18, and elderly people aged 80 or older, needing external care according to the conclusion of a medical institution, will be reviewed by social workers at least once a year through the "Unified National Social Protection" information system.
From July 1, 2024, a unified system for tracking financial assistance and other social services will be introduced. Social payments for each citizen (family), their entitlements, including subsidies, services, and support, will be recorded in the "Social Protection" information system on an individual basis.
From November 1, the "Inson" district (city) social service centers will implement a system for providing psychological assistance to individuals facing challenging life situations. Before December 1, the integration of information on the types and conditions of work feasible for people with disabilities will be ensured based on their health status determined by medical and social expertise.
