A lone gunman killed three people and set fires in a hospital and residential building in the Dutch city of Rotterdam on September 28, according to the city's police chief.
The police chief, Fred Westerbeke, stated that the 32-year-old shooter, a student from Rotterdam, shot a 39-year-old woman and seriously wounded her 14-year-old daughter. The girl later died in the hospital.
The gunman then, wearing a bulletproof vest, headed to the nearby Erasmus Medical Center, where he shot a 46-year-old man who taught at the university affiliated with the hospital.
According to Euronews, the suspect's identity has not been disclosed, and no motive for his actions has been announced. Throughout the year, Rotterdam has experienced numerous small explosions in homes and businesses, which have been attributed to rival drug trafficking gangs.
