The Uzbekistan national team secured an impressive haul of 6 medals on September 27, comprising 1 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze, according to the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to Gazeta.uz, in a thrilling taekwondo final, Uzbekistan's Ulugbek Rashitov (-68 kg) claimed a resounding victory over his Jordanian opponent, Karim Zaid, earning the Asian Games championship title. Taekwondo athlete Feruza Sodikova clinched a silver medal in the women's 67 kg weight category, narrowly missing the gold to China's Ji Song.
Uzbekistan's judo team also secured silver medals in the mixed team event, conceding the final match to Japan. Uzbekistan's chess players contributed to the medal tally with two wins. In the men's chess competition, Nodirbek Abdusattorov claimed silver with 7 points, while Zhavokhir Sindarov secured a bronze with 6.5 points.
Another silver medal in chess was won by Umida Omonova, who finished second with 6.5 points after 9 rounds.
As of now, Uzbekistan's national team has accumulated 28 medals, including 6 gold, 10 silver, and 12 bronze medals, placing them in fourth position in the medal standings.
