Starting in 2024, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan will exchange additional permit forms for international cargo transportation, according to the Ministry of Transport.
During an online meeting on September 26, the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan commission discussed issues related to international road transportation between the two countries, addressing challenges faced by national carriers and their resolutions.
Both parties agreed to exchange additional bilateral permit forms for the current year. Furthermore, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have set a quota for the exchange of permit forms for 2024. Starting next year, permit documents between the two countries will be categorized into three types: transit, bilateral, and trilateral.
The Ministry of Transport has requested Uzbek carriers to return used foreign permit forms received since the beginning of this year. In late August, Uzbekistan ran out of permit forms for foreign transportation through Kazakhstan, prompting negotiations with Kazakhstan, Russia, and Poland to allocate additional foreign permit forms.
