In Kazakhstan's Akmola region, there have been 15 reported cases of anthrax.
According to Inform.kz, health experts believe that the condition of all the affected individuals is moderate. Currently, 22 people who had contact with the patients are under medical observation. A total of 1700 vaccine doses and 900,000 milligrams of disinfectant have been delivered to the quarantine village of Ushkarasu. All the barns in the village have now been disinfected, and the animals have been vaccinated against this dangerous disease.
"A republican anti-epidemic team has arrived. Extra livestock and equipment are not being taken out of the village. Checkpoints have been established, and all animals are registered," says Agibay Sizdikov, Deputy Head of the Regional Veterinary Department.
The Ministry of Agriculture has stated that Kazakhstan has 2,261 burial sites, with 50 classified as epidemic foci (affecting people), and 20 burial sites located in neighboring countries following border demarcation.
