As of September 1, travelers from two neighboring Central Asian countries, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, can cross their state border at the "Kara-Bagysh" and "Bek-Abad" checkpoints.
"Kara-Bagysh" is situated in the Aravan district of Osh region and is only accessible by citizens of both countries on foot, without using transportation or transporting goods or animals, except for personal belongings.
"Bek-Abad" is located in the Suzak district of the Jalal-Abad region and allows third-country nationals, including those with cars, to pass through.
According to spot.uz, in 2010, most border crossings between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan were closed.
There are a total of 15 checkpoints between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, but only 11 are operational, with two yet to open.
It was previously reported that Uzbekistan nationals can travel to Kyrgyzstan using their ID cards starting on September 1.
