Kyrgyzstan has recently received food aid from the Russian Federation, totaling approximately 1,400 tons. The Russian Embassy in Bishkek confirmed that a formal ceremony was held in Bishkek, attended by the Embassy and the Ministry of Labour, Social Welfare and Migration of Kyrgyzstan, to transfer the aid.
The aid includes 1,215 tons of vitaminized wheat flour and over 180 tons of sunflower oil.
The UN World Food Programme (WFP) staff and local authorities have been entrusted with the responsibility of distributing these products to more than 26,000 vulnerable individuals across Kyrgyzstan's regions.
This food aid is part of the Russian Federation's contribution to the WFP fund.
A similar event is scheduled to take place in Osh in the coming days, this time with the Russian Consulate General and the plenipotentiary representation of the President of Kyrgyzstan in the Osh region.
