During a press conference on the annual activities of the Afghanistan National Standards Authority (ANSA), Faizullah Tamim, the acting head of ANSA, revealed that they have conducted tests on over 100,000 tankers containing oil, gas, and other fuels in the past year. Among these, approximately 2,000 tankers were rejected due to their low quality, Sputnik Afghanistan reports.
Tamim also expressed satisfaction with the organization's performance, stating that ANSA's revenue has witnessed a significant 15% increase compared to previous years. He assured the public that the standardization process has achieved up to 70% transparency.
ANSA officials emphasized the importance of traders avoiding the importation of low-quality goods into the country. To facilitate compliance, Ashoqullah Waziri, a spokesperson for ANSA, encouraged traders who lack access to national standard measures to seek assistance from ANSA and adhere to policies and standards.
Furthermore, Mohammad Asif Qanat, the deputy head of ANSA, pledged to implement standardization measures across various sectors. He highlighted the existence of 775 standardization measures in areas such as engineering, development, construction, highways, and bridge design.
