Starting from April 21, Rosselkhoznadzor has imposed a ban on Kyrgyz dairy products, 24.kg reports.
Before this, the agency notified the Kyrgyz Veterinary Service of its requirement to halt the shipment of dairy goods to Russia. The conclusion was issued after an examination from April 10 to 16, which revealed that the republic's responsible body was ineffective in assuring and certifying the quality and safety of dairy products supplied to Russia.
The examination indicated that the firms lacked sufficient epizootic and animal product quality and safety control.
Furthermore, the task plan did not contain research for the majority of the criteria mandated by Russia and the EAEU, making it difficult to verify the provenance of supplies or accurate product labeling. According to Rosselkhoznadzor, the import of dairy products from Kyrgyzstan may only continue if a second inspection shows that any concerns have been addressed.
This dairy prohibition follows previous restrictions on halal sausage and fish imports from Kyrgyzstan.
