Uzbek President signed a decree to exempt some building materials from custom duties such as cement (before it was 30%), chipboard (10%), plywood (10%), concrete formwork (15%), energy-saving basalt coatings (10%) and glass (10 %) until January 1, 2025, the Ministry of Justice reports.
The head of state already talked about the measures to reduce the cost of housing construction when the exemption on customs duty on high-grade cement would be prolonged for another year (from 2021) and considerably cut down the cost of housing construction by 5%.
The 0% rate has been already applied for timber in Uzbekistan.
