Tajikistan and Belarus have signed 10 new agreements to strengthen industrial collaboration and boost the supply of Belarusian goods to the Tajik market, according to Asia Plus. The deals were finalized during the 18th session of the Tajik-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

The agreements cover partnerships in food production, livestock imports, and joint industrial ventures. Key deals include:

  • A cooperation agreement between Slutsk Sugar Refinery and Obi Zulol.
  • A livestock partnership between Belplemzhivobyedineniye and Boboi Sharifbek for supplying Belarusian breeding cattle to Tajikistan.
  • A meat supply contract between Slonim Meat Processing Plant and a state enterprise in Dushanbe.
  • Commercial agreements for dry milk and whey from Pruzhany and Glubokoye dairy companies.
  • The combined value of food import and export agreements reportedly exceeds $16mn.

Tajik Agriculture Minister Kurbon Hakimzoda highlighted the commission's pivotal role in strengthening economic ties as Tajikistan advances its industrialization, digital reforms, and shift toward a green economy. He noted that over the past five years, the country's industrial output nearly doubled, increasing from TJS 27bn to TJS 53bn ($2.8bn-$5.7bn), while agricultural production surged from TJS 39bn to TJS 73bn ($4.2bn-$7.8bn).

Belarus ranks 8th among Tajikistan's trading partners. Between January and July 2025, bilateral trade in food and agricultural raw materials rose by 52% compared to the same period in 2024. Belarusian exports to Tajikistan increased by 54%, driven by a 7.2-fold rise in meat exports and a fourfold increase in eggs and egg products. Other major exports included sugar, dairy, and live cattle.

On the import side, Tajik dried fruits and peanuts remain in high demand in Belarus. From January to June 2025, Belarus supplied to Tajikistan with 1,056 head of cattle, a 42% increase over the previous year.
