Twenty-two universities from Uzbekistan have been included in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026, according to data released by the QS Quacquarelli Symonds agency.
Out of these, eight universities improved their positions compared to last year’s ranking, reflecting growing academic standards and international competitiveness in Uzbekistan’s education system.
This year’s QS Asia ranking features over 1,500 universities from 25 countries, with 557 new institutions joining the list. The evaluation is based on several key indicators, including scientific research capacity, academic and employer reputation, graduate outcomes, educational quality, and international collaboration.
The inclusion of more Uzbek universities highlights the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the country’s academic landscape through reforms, incentives, and international partnerships.
Earlier, authorities announced that entrepreneurs who employ university graduates will be eligible for preferential loans of up to UZS 5bn ($417,101). However, if an employer terminates a graduate’s contract within two years, the loan will revert to a commercial interest rate.
In addition, it was reported that tax benefits for parents paying university tuition fees will now be provided regardless of their age, easing financial burdens for families supporting higher education.
