China CAMC Engineering (CAMCE) has signed a framework agreement to jointly manage the Yangi Avlod industrial zone in Tashkent, marking a new milestone in Uzbekistan–China industrial cooperation.

The agreement was inked during an official ceremony in Tashkent with the participation of CAMCE Board Chairman Wang Bo. Alongside CAMCE and Tashkent Invest, the agreement involves the Directorate of the Industrial Zone and the Tashkent city administration (khokimiyat).
Under the agreement, the parties will jointly oversee the development of the industrial zone, attract strategic investors, bring in advanced technologies, and channel investments into the zone’s infrastructure.
According to Tashkent Invest, the deal is expected to unlock new opportunities for industrial development and accelerate the inflow of foreign capital into key economic sectors.

The Yangi Avlod industrial zone was created by presidential decree in March 2024 and is situated in the Yangikhayot district of the capital. The zone offers preferential conditions for investors for a period of 30 years, similar to other special economic zones in Uzbekistan.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the construction site in November 2024, where he reviewed plans for major industrial projects and officially assigned CAMCE with the task of managing the zone’s development and investor outreach.
With total planned investments of around $1.5bn, Yangi Avlod is envisioned as a cutting-edge manufacturing and logistics hub. Several major international companies have already expressed interest.

Chinese automakers BYD, JAC, and Bosheng are planning to build factories within the zone. BYD, in particular, aims to produce electric buses in the area, according to Tashkent Invest’s Deputy Head for Digital Transformation Alexander Gurko.
Other companies planning projects include:
- JAC Motors – production of commercial vehicles
- Access Japan – office furniture manufacturing
- DP World (UAE) – development of a transport and logistics center
- Krantas and Evyap – planned enterprise locations in the zone
Farrukh Abdusalomov, Head of the Yangi Avlod Directorate, noted that the zone will host projects across several sectors, including furniture, food processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, and automotive industries. Supporting infrastructure such as testing laboratories, certification facilities, and dual education centers are also planned to enhance industrial capacity and workforce development.
