The government of Uzbekistan has approved the regulation on the procedure for organizing cooperation of students of higher education institutions with customers, the Ministry of Justice reported on January 12. The regulation establishes the framework for collaboration between universities, students, and employers, including the reimbursement of educational expenses and subsequent employment of students.
Under the regulation, employers may reimburse contract fees for students enrolled in the second year or higher of a bachelor’s program, provided they hire the students upon completion of their studies. Eligible employers include ministries, departments, organizations with more than 50 employees, and enterprises involved in investment projects valued at $1mn or more.
Students wishing to participate must submit an electronic application to their higher education institution by September 20 each year, along with a certificate of mastery indicators. After graduation, students submit a follow-up application indicating their willingness to be employed by the customer enterprise or organization. Applicants are required to have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the current academic year.
A selection committee conducts interviews and evaluates applicants, with decisions finalized by October 15 annually. The determination of the customer representative is the primary criterion for selecting candidates. Students who successfully complete their studies under a tripartite agreement with a customer organization are employed in accordance with the established procedure.
The regulation aligns with previous government announcements, including the decision that no special test will be required for prestigious state scholarships for the 2025/26 academic year.
