President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a Chinese delegation led by Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, on September 7. During the meeting, Liu Haixing conveyed greetings and best wishes from Chinese President Xi Jinping to Mirziyoyev.
The sides reviewed further expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in line with agreements reached at the highest level. They noted the current level of the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Trade and investment were among the areas discussed. The sides noted continued growth in mutual trade and investment, as well as an increasing number of joint projects and enterprises involving Chinese companies.
Particular attention was given to the development of interparliamentary and interparty cooperation. Uzbekistan and China also considered further cooperation in higher and vocational education. The discussions included the opening of branches of leading Chinese universities in Uzbekistan as part of efforts to expand educational ties between the two countries.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to prepare a joint roadmap aimed at expanding interparliamentary and interparty cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.
Earlier Daryo reported that Uzbekistan and Chinese companies discussed potential cooperation in construction and heat supply, including prefabricated building technologies, cogeneration facilities, geothermal heat pumps, green materials and investment projects.
