Uzbekistan is considering new investment projects with several major Chinese companies in mining, mineral processing, chemical production, agriculture and food manufacturing, following talks held on August 12.
Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Ilzat Kasimov held talks with executives representing Chinese companies operating across a range of industrial sectors. The Chinese delegation included representatives of Sichuan Hebang Investment Group, China Feihe Limited, YEMA Group, Zhejiang ZHINK Group and Beijing Century Beking Furniture. Their activities cover mining and chemicals, agriculture and livestock farming, dairy and food production, PET materials, textiles and furniture manufacturing.
During the talks, the Uzbek side presented information on the country's investment potential and opportunities for implementing industrial projects. The parties reviewed prospects for cooperation in the development of mineral deposits and the deep processing of mineral resources. Potential projects in chemical production were also considered as part of efforts to develop cooperation with Chinese industrial companies.
Agriculture and food processing formed another area of the talks. The parties considered opportunities to establish production facilities for milk powder and other dairy products in Uzbekistan.
The participation of companies representing PET materials, textiles and furniture manufacturing also formed part of the broader engagement with the Chinese business delegation, although specific projects in these sectors were not detailed in the information provided. Following the talks, the Uzbek side and representatives of the Chinese companies agreed to continue working with relevant ministries and government agencies to further develop the proposed projects.
