Turkiye has completed its domestic ratification of the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), advancing the implementation of a regional framework aimed at expanding digital trade and economic integration among member countries, according to Anadolu.
The law approving the agreement was published in Turkiye’s Official Gazette, confirming the completion of internal legal procedures. With this step, Turkiye becomes the third OTS member state—after Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan—to finalize domestic ratification of the agreement.
The Digital Economy Partnership Agreement was signed on November 6, 2024, during the 11th OTS Summit held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation in digital trade, e-commerce, and data-driven economic activities among member states of the Organization of Turkic States.
According to Turkiye’s Ministry of Trade, the agreement is intended to reduce barriers in e-commerce and digital services, facilitate cross-border digital transactions, and establish common regulatory principles for digital economic activity among participating countries. It also aims to support business access to digital markets and promote the adoption of new technologies across the region.
The agreement will enter into force once Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan complete their respective domestic ratification procedures. Until then, implementation remains pending across the full membership of the Organization of Turkic States.
