Tashkent city administration and representatives of the Turkmen company Aydyn Gijeler discussed potential cooperation on urban infrastructure modernization and Smart City-related projects during a meeting involving Tashkent Mayor Shavkat Umurzakov and the company’s management.
Aydyn Gijeler is one of Turkmenistan’s industrial and high-tech companies, engaged in the production of electrical and technological equipment. The meeting focused on possible areas of collaboration in urban development and infrastructure systems in the capital.
The discussions covered the introduction of Smart City technologies in Tashkent, including intelligent traffic management systems, modern traffic light infrastructure, energy-efficient street lighting, and road safety solutions. Consideration was also given to the production and installation of road infrastructure components.
Both sides reviewed potential joint investment projects, including opportunities for localization of production within special economic zones. Proposed areas of cooperation included the manufacturing of cable products and electrical equipment in Uzbekistan.
The meeting also addressed the possibility of implementing pilot projects in Tashkent. These could include modernized road intersections, smart lighting systems, and integrated traffic safety infrastructure as part of broader urban development initiatives.
In addition, the parties discussed prospects for expanding industrial cooperation and introducing advanced technologies in urban infrastructure management.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue discussions on potential joint projects and further cooperation in the development of urban infrastructure and technology-based solutions.
