President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Turchin on June 16, in Tashkent during the fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum, where the parties reviewed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation and discussed preparations for upcoming high-level engagements.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prime Minister Turchin conveyed greetings and best wishes from President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
The discussions focused on the further expansion of Uzbek-Belarusian relations within the framework of multifaceted partnership. Both sides considered ongoing cooperation and measures aimed at strengthening economic, trade, and sectoral collaboration.
The parties noted the results of the Intergovernmental Commission meeting held in May in the Tashkent region, highlighting its role in advancing practical cooperation between the two countries.
Economic cooperation was identified as an important area of engagement. Bilateral trade has increased by 32% since the beginning of the year. Current cooperation projects include initiatives in agriculture, mechanical engineering, and other industrial sectors.
Attention was given to coordinating efforts to further expand trade and economic ties. The discussions also included plans to intensify cultural, humanitarian, and interregional exchanges as part of broader bilateral cooperation.
