Turki Khalid Hamad al-Mikrad, newly appointed Ambassador of Kuwait to Uzbekistan, presented copies of his credentials to Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kuwait. The agenda included political dialogue, as well as the expansion of trade, economic, and investment ties.
The parties noted that the state visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kuwait in February 2025 marked a new stage in bilateral relations. They also emphasized the importance of implementing the agreements reached during that visit.
The meeting additionally covered cooperation within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council and other international and regional organizations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Foreign Minister Saidov wished the ambassador success in his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.
Turki Khalid Hamad al-Mikrad succeeds Ahmed Khalid Al-Jiran, who completed his assignment in Uzbekistan in September 2024. Al-Jiran had presented copies of his credentials to the Uzbek foreign minister in December 2015.
