A total of 89 foreign companies providing electronic services in Uzbekistan paid UZS 65.7bn ($5.1mn) in taxes during the first quarter of 2026, according to the country’s Tax Committee.
The figure marked an 81% increase compared to the same period of 2025, when foreign digital service providers paid UZS 36.2bn ($2.8mn) in taxes.
The value of electronic services supplied in Uzbekistan also increased significantly. During the first three months of 2025, the market volume stood at UZS 306.6bn ($23.8mn), rising to UZS 552bn ($42.9mn) in the first quarter of 2026.
Among foreign companies, Apple became the largest taxpayer, paying UZS 16.1bn ($1.25mn). It was followed by Google with UZS 14.9bn ($1.16mn) and Meta with UZS 13.9bn ($1.08mn).
Other major taxpayers included Valve Corporation with UZS 8bn ($621,000), OpenAI with UZS 2.5bn ($194,000), Anthropic with UZS 1.5bn ($116,000), TikTok with UZS 868.3mn ($67,000), Booking.com with UZS 694.7mn ($54,000), and Netflix with UZS 570.4mn ($44,000).
The number of foreign companies registered as electronic service providers in Uzbekistan has steadily increased in recent years. Their total stood at 55 in January 2024, rising to 63 in January 2025, 78 in January 2026 and reaching 89 by April this year.
Uzbekistan requires foreign legal entities providing electronic services to submit tax reports and pay taxes no later than the 20th day of the month following each reporting quarter.
