Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan Ilzat Kasymov held talks on February 11, with representatives of Japan’s Sojitz Corporation and JALUX to review ongoing cooperation and discuss participation in the New Tashkent International Airport project.
The meeting focused on accelerating the implementation of the airport’s construction, including the need to expedite the signing of a public-private partnership agreement and ensure comprehensive development of related infrastructure. The parties examined practical steps required to move the project forward in line with agreed timelines.
JALUX presented its plans to enter Uzbekistan's market and take part in the development of commercial airport infrastructure, including duty-free retail operations, aviation catering, and associated services. Discussions also covered potential areas of collaboration in these segments.
Sojitz Corporation, one of Japan’s largest trade and investment holdings, operates in sectors such as mechanical engineering, transport, energy, industry, and infrastructure across more than 50 countries. JALUX specializes in aviation and airport infrastructure development, duty-free management, and catering services.
The sides confirmed their intention to maintain cooperation and ensure the consistent implementation of the agreements reached.
