Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency has signed a cooperation agreement with Gyeongsangnam-do Province in the Republic of Korea on the E-7 skilled worker visa program.
The agreement opens opportunities for young Uzbek specialists to work in the province’s major industrial sectors while gaining valuable professional experience.
Provincial Governor Park Wan-su commented on the agreement, saying that it is the first document in the history of Gyeongsangnam-do Province to accept foreign labor. He added that foreign workers are selected primarily based on their language skills and expressed appreciation for the preparedness of Uzbek youth and the country’s education system.
During the meeting, officials also discussed prospects for future collaboration under the E-8 seasonal worker visa, which targets temporary employment in agriculture and fishing. This follows earlier reports of plans to re-engage Uzbek citizens in South Korea’s seasonal labor program.
The E-7 visa, or Specially Designated Activities Visa, is issued to foreigners with expertise in certain fields and professions. The E-8 visa, or Seasonal Worker Visa, is a temporary visa issued to attract foreigners for seasonal work in the agricultural and fishing sectors.
