Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan signed several key documents aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation during the fifth meeting of the Kyrgyz-Pakistani Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation held in Islamabad.

The signed documents include:
- Protocol of the 5th IGC Meeting, outlining shared priorities and next steps for cooperation;
- Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Investment Council of Pakistan;
- Memorandum on Halal Trade between the Halal Industry Development Center of Kyrgyzstan and the Pakistan Halal Authority;
- Memorandum of Cooperation in Standardization and Quality Control between Kyrgyzstan’s Center for Standardization and Metrology and Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA).

The Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov. As part of the IGC agenda, Baisalov held a meeting with Pakistan’s Minister of Energy, Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, where the two sides discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the energy sector.
The work of the Intergovernmental Commission continued in an expanded format with the participation of relevant ministries and departments from both countries. The discussions focused on strengthening trade and economic ties, developing transport and logistics connections, implementing joint energy and infrastructure projects, and advancing cooperation in agriculture, education, healthcare, tourism, and information technology.

Special attention was given to the practical implementation of earlier agreements and to fostering direct contacts between the business communities of Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan. Both sides emphasized the importance of translating commitments into concrete actions that support mutual growth.
“The Kyrgyz Republic attaches great importance to the development of strategic partnership with Pakistan. Friendship between our countries has deep cultural and historical roots, and Pakistan occupies a priority place in Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy,” said Edil Baisalov during the session.
