President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Parkent district in the Tashkent region on June 18 to review ongoing development initiatives and meet with local residents. His visit highlighted the district’s transformation, anchored by new infrastructure projects, including an electrified railway line and the construction of a modern eco-city.

The president’s first stop was the "Parkentsoy" residential complex, a new eco-friendly housing area under construction on the banks of the Parkentsoy River.
Spanning six hectares, the complex will include 125 multi-storey buildings, providing 5,200 apartments equipped with modern utilities and energy-efficient systems. Geothermal collectors installed on rooftops will provide eco-friendly water heating solutions.
Designed to improve living conditions in densely populated neighborhoods, the project is expected to have significant social impact. In addition to housing, the area will include two schools, eight kindergartens, playgrounds, a 10-hectare park, an artificial lake, pedestrian promenades, and bicycle paths. Internal roads totaling 17 kilometers will also be renovated.

The complex is also poised to become a hub for local businesses. Plans include 58 non-residential buildings for trade and service enterprises, expected to create over 700 jobs.
During his visit, President Mirziyoyev also reviewed broader development plans for the district, including the ongoing construction of the electrified railway line connecting Baytkurgan and Parkent. The 24-kilometer route is expected to serve up to 275,000 passengers daily, facilitating travel to and from the capital and supporting local tourism. Officials believe the new line will significantly boost entrepreneurship and stimulate Parkent’s economic growth.
The president also examined progress on the improvement of the Parkentsoy River and its surrounding area. The first phase of bank reinforcement has been completed, including a 4-kilometer concrete lining of the river.

A new 5-kilometer road constructed along the stream connects to the main thoroughfare and can handle 10,000 vehicles per day, helping to ease traffic congestion in the town center. A pedestrian walkway, an overpass, and a bridge have also been built.
In the second phase, development will extend to 100 hectares of cleared land—including previously marshy areas—stretching toward Kumushkon. This space will be developed for tourism infrastructure.

President Mirziyoyev spoke with local activists and elders at the park, expressing pride in the region’s progress.
“Our greatest wealth is the peace of our country, the tranquility of our people. When peace is stable, such creativity will take place, and plans will be implemented,” he said. “We are mobilizing state organizations, unleashing opportunities, and trying to develop all regions. I was happy to see that the wind of independence and the results of reforms have reached Parkent. Our people deserve to live in such prosperous conditions.”
Community members, including elders, shared their appreciation for the new opportunities being created and emphasized the positive impact on daily life in the district.
