In 2025, Uzbekistan plans to harvest 256 tons of cherries, 500 tons of apples, 480 tons of pears, and 30 tons of raspberries in an intensive orchard located in the Parkent district of Tashkent region.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev recently visited the 54-hectare orchard, developed by the Meridian Tempo enterprise, to review the ongoing harvest and observe modern farming methods in action.
The orchard is planted with export-oriented fruit varieties, with seedlings imported from France and Spain. All trees are self-pollinating, which plays a key role in achieving consistently high yields.

The site features advanced agro-technological systems, including full drip irrigation. Water is first collected in a special basin and then distributed using a natural slope, allowing irrigation without energy consumption.
This innovative approach helps reduce both operational costs and the final product price. In addition, solar panels have been installed to further increase energy efficiency.

Much of the fruit grown here is intended for export. Officials emphasized that income from these crops is several times higher than that from traditional agricultural produce.
Following the visit, President Mirziyoyev gave instructions to expand the use of such intensive farming methods nationwide and to actively incorporate international expertise in fruit cultivation, care, and packaging—key steps in boosting Uzbekistan’s presence in global agricultural markets.
