A total of 52 tourism projects worth $1.8bn are set to transform Parkent district into one of Uzbekistan’s key travel destinations. The initiatives aim to serve over 1mn visitors annually and create 3,300 new jobs.

During his recent visit to Parkent, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed several ongoing and planned projects, including a modern recreation zone at the “Oltin bel” (Golden Belt) peak.
Built on a 3-hectare site on the slopes of the Khushmanzara mountain, the area now features two compact and affordable hotels offering a total of 188 beds, capsule houses, a restaurant, and service buildings. Another 20 houses are set to be added in the next stage.

The president inspected the hospitality facilities and highlighted the importance of expanding accessible tourism infrastructure in mountainous regions.
One of the most ambitious projects under consideration is a large-scale ski resort to be developed by an Austrian company across 1,200 hectares of Parkent’s snowy terrain. The resort will include 3-, 4-, and 5-star hotels, ski and cable car tracks, chalets, restaurants, wellness centers, and picnic areas.

Designed to be implemented in three phases, the resort is expected to host up to 15,000 tourists per day at full capacity. The development will also lead to the creation of approximately 600 service facilities and generate around 10,000 permanent and seasonal jobs.
Officials noted that, much like the successful Amirsoy resort in Bostanlyk, this new complex will help establish Parkent as one of the premier year-round tourist destinations in the Tashkent region.
During a dialogue with tourism experts and developers, President Mirziyoyev discussed ways to enhance the project design, expand the range of services, and speed up construction timelines.
