Uzbekistan plans to build a water reservoir with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters in Chilanzar district, the project aims to improve water supply in Shaykhontakhur, Chilanzar, and Uchtepa districts.
Once completed, the facility will ensure uninterrupted access to drinking water while saving about 8,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per day.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed this and several other major construction and public transport projects during a presentation on June 16.
As investment interest in the capital continues to grow, Tashkent is rapidly transforming into a modern metropolis, with ongoing developments including high-rise buildings, business centers, and the large-scale New Tashkent initiative.
To support the expansion, a new 160-megawatt substation is also planned for Chilanzar district. This will help provide a stable power supply for upcoming projects without overloading existing networks.

The president was also briefed on efforts to enhance construction quality. Following his earlier directive on May 13, the safety of newly designed multi-storey buildings has been reassessed.
Expert opinions from organizations such as O‘zGASHKLITI, the Seismology Institute, and the Emergency Situations Department confirm that all new buildings must meet earthquake resistance standards of at least 9 points. Each project will now undergo a comprehensive technical and scientific review.
Tashkent's growing role as a host city for international forums and exhibitions has also prompted expansion plans for the Central Asian Expo Uzbekistan (CAEx) complex. Additional negotiation halls will be built to accommodate upcoming events.

Transport infrastructure is another key focus. A new metro line to the Tashkent Tractor Plant is planned in two stages. The first stage will involve constructing an above-ground line from Pushkin station to the Tashkent Ring Road.
The second stage will extend the route underground to Shah station. The new line is expected to serve 85,000 passengers and will be built without disrupting traffic on city roads.
Additionally, a 21-kilometer metro line from the current Do’stlik station to New Tashkent is in the pipeline. With nine stations, this line is expected to handle up to 230,000 passengers daily.
President Mirziyoyev instructed officials to ensure high-quality construction practices and to focus on creating comfortable urban environments for residents as the city continues its transformation.
