India’s largest airline, IndiGo, will begin operating regular flights between Mumbai and Tashkent starting August 1, according to Uzbekistan Airports. The move is part of the airline’s broader effort to expand its international network and enhance air connectivity between India and Central Asia.

The new route will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft and will operate four times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Flights will depart from Mumbai at 09:55 and arrive in Tashkent at 15:00. The return flights will leave Tashkent at 16:20 and land in Mumbai at 21:55, all times local.
IndiGo received permission to operate in Uzbekistan from the country’s aviation authority, Uzaviatsia, in August 2023. Discussions about launching the Mumbai–Tashkent flights began earlier that year with the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.
The airline has already established a presence in Uzbekistan through its Delhi–Tashkent service, which commenced in September 2023. Initially, the route offered four weekly flights between the capitals, but since August 2024, the frequency increased to daily operations.
IndiGo is a privately owned low-cost airline based in Gurgaon, India. It holds the position of the country’s largest air carrier in terms of both fleet size and the number of scheduled flights.
The newly added route connects Tashkent with Mumbai, India’s financial capital and one of the most densely populated cities globally. Located on the western coast along the Arabian Sea, Mumbai is known as the center of Bollywood and serves as a major hub for business, fashion, and entertainment.
