Uzbekistan and China have signed new cooperation agreements aimed at creating a unified system of standards in the road sector and advancing digital innovation.

A delegation from Uzbekistan’s Roads Committee is currently on a business trip to the People’s Republic of China, focusing on enhancing scientific and technical collaboration in road infrastructure development.
As part of the visit, officials held meetings with the leadership of the Tianjin Municipal Engineering, Design and Research Institute. The Uzbek delegation also toured China’s largest testing laboratory, where negotiations were held on the joint development of innovative construction materials for road infrastructure.
The visit culminated in an agreement—the first of its kind for Uzbekistan with a foreign developed country—focused on three key areas: the creation of a unified system of standards in the road sector, the development of innovative materials, and the launch of digitalization initiatives.

According to the Roads Committee, the agreement marks a milestone in the history of Uzbekistan’s Road Research Institute. It sets the stage for practical collaboration to modernize road construction materials and bring national standards in line with international benchmarks.
The agreement is expected to enhance the scientific and technical capacity of Uzbekistan’s road sector and support its integration into the global infrastructure ecosystem.
Earlier, Uzbekistan and leading companies from China’s Fujian Province signed over 20 investment and trade agreements in Tashkent. These agreements focus on launching joint projects in various sectors, including construction materials, mining, textiles, automotive parts, and the development of industrial parks.
