Uzbekistan has announced that subsidies will now be extended to all resident airlines operating domestic routes, as part of new measures aimed at enhancing regional air connectivity and promoting domestic tourism.

According to the Ministry of Transport, the decision comes under a new resolution adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers on additional measures to further improve regional air transport and domestic tourism.
The resolution equalizes support across all local carriers by applying the same special tariffs and subsidy rates previously designated for Uzbekistan Airways to all other resident airlines operating within the country.
A restructured Special Commission has also been approved to oversee the pricing of air tickets and determine the volume of subsidies granted for socially significant and regional routes. The commission comprises six members and is chaired by Aziz Abduhakimov, Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate.
The Special Commission will set local route tariffs and identify routes eligible for subsidies. Airlines can sell tickets based on the commission's established prices and submit monthly subsidy requests to the Ministry of Transport. These applications must follow the format approved by Order No. 188 of the Ministry of Transport, dated October 14, 2021.
Subsidies for domestic flights were first introduced on June 1, 2021, and the program is scheduled to continue until January 1, 2026.
