Uzbekistan and Latvia agreed to facilitate the organized recruitment of 600 Uzbek truck drivers for employment in Latvia. This outcome resulted from a visit by representatives from Kreiss, a leading Latvian transport and logistics company, who engaged in discussions with the Ministry of Transport, the External Labor Migration Agency, and the International Association of Road Carriers in Uzbekistan.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed with the Vatanparvar organization to establish specialized simulators for training Uzbek truck drivers. These simulators will be installed at driving schools affiliated with Vatanparvar. Drivers trained at these centres will receive certifications that meet European standards, enabling them to pursue employment opportunities within the European Union (EU).
By aligning training with European standards, this partnership aims to enhance the professional skills of Uzbek drivers and facilitate their integration into the European transport industry.
