Air Astana announced the resumption of its flight operations from Astana to Seoul starting June 15. These flights, scheduled to operate twice weekly, will utilize the Airbus A321LR aircraft. Initially launched in 2015, the Astana to Seoul route was suspended in 2020 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The restored flights from Astana will work in conjunction with the existing daily flights from Almaty to Seoul. Both routes are part of a codeshare agreement with Asiana Airlines, enhancing connectivity and travel options between Kazakhstan and South Korea. Since its inception in 2003, the Almaty-Seoul service has successfully transported approximately 800,000 passengers.
In addition to the resumed service to Seoul, Air Astana expanded its summer 2024 international flight schedule. Notable increases include flights from Almaty to Tashkent, now offered 14 times a week; to Bishkek, eight times a week; to Tbilisi, nine times a week; to Dushanbe, four times a week; and to Baku, three times a week.
