The Tajikistan-Italy Investment Forum, hosted in Rome on April 24, resulted in the signing of contracts totalling over $160 mn. The event coincided with the official visit of the Tajik President to Italy and involved participation from more than 100 companies from both countries.
The forum featured attendance from senior officials of various ministries and agencies from Tajikistan and Italy. Discussions at the event focused on opportunities for enhancing cooperation between the business communities of the two nations in several strategic sectors, including industry, energy, agriculture, and information technologies.
Key presentations were made by Sulton Rahimzoda, Head of the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management, Sherali Kabir, Minister of Industry and New Technologies, and Daler Juma, Minister of Energy and Water Resources. These presentations detailed investment opportunities within Tajikistan’s economy.
Representatives from Italian companies WeBuild Group and Carrera Company provided information on their operations and experiences in Tajikistan, offering insights into their business activities.
In addition, bilateral entrepreneur-to-entrepreneur meetings took place on the margins of the forum. These meetings focused on trade and investment issues, aiming to enhance bilateral economic relations.
