Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover witnessed a substantial increase, reaching $2.3 bn in 2M24. This figure reflects an influx of 28.3% compared to the corresponding period in 2023, the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan reports.
Exports from Kyrgyzstan amounted to $307.5 mn, marking an 18.4% rise compared to January–February 2023. Conversely, imports surged to $1.9 bn, representing a significant increase of 30% y/y.
Trade with member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) totalled $482.7 mn, indicating a decline of 17.9% compared to the same period in 2023. Notably, Russia dominated the trade within the EAEU, accounting for 69.4%, followed by Kazakhstan at 28.2%.
In contrast, trade with non-EAEU countries surged to $1.8 bn, marking a notable increase of 1.5 times compared to January–February 2023.
In 2023, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $15.7 bn, demonstrating a robust increase of 29.9% compared to 2022. Exports totalled $3.3 bn, registering a significant rise of 46.8% y/y Meanwhile, imports amounted to $12.4 bn, reflecting a 26% increase compared to 2022.
