Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has received Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov in Tashkent.
The Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports that "particular attention was paid to the formation of a new agenda for multifaceted partnership in preparation for the upcoming summit meetings.".
Current issues of further development of the strategic partnership between the two countries were discussed. Partnership in industrial cooperation, energy, transport and logistics, and agriculture is growing.
The Turkmen delegation arrived in the Uzbek capital to participate in the meeting of foreign ministers of the Central Asia-Gulf Cooperation Council Strategic Dialogue.
Experts told Daryo that there has been a more than five-fold increase in mutual trade between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan between 2017 and 2023, which totalled $1.094bn at the end of last year.
More than 46,000 Turkmen citizens visited Uzbekistan for business purposes last year, topping the list of foreign business travellers.
